A highly productive and insightful field visit was conducted to Demthring village.

A highly productive and insightful field visit was conducted on 2nd March 2026 to Demthring village. The team received a warm welcome from the community in the presence of C. V. Diengdoh, IAS, Additional Project Director of the MegARISE Project, along with the BDO of Mylliem Block, block officials, SPMU, CMU, and IC teams.

Following an engaging interaction with the community, the team visited key intervention sites, including the water tank, spring chamber, vermicompost unit, minor irrigation dam, and retaining wall. The visit then proceeded to Pomkaniew village, where the protection wall, permanent nursery, plantation site, and structures constructed to prevent siltation into the Umiew River were inspected.

The visit concluded at Kyndong Nongkyntir, where the winners of FPA 2 and FPA 3 were felicitated in recognition of their innovative and impactful proposals.

Community members expressed their sincere appreciation for the MegARISE Project, highlighting its benefits in generating wage employment, reviving traditional water bodies, reducing soil erosion on agricultural land, supporting nurseries for sapling supply, and promoting sustainable livelihood activities such as composting.
